THE HUMAN EDGE: The value of experience lies in what we pass on to others.

With multiple engineering qualifications, an MBA and more than 50 years of experience in business, spanning engineering, industry and finance, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a director of several major companies.

But what I wanted to do was make a contribution from my experience to younger people, so that their careers could be easier and more successful.

That’s why I got involved with ORT Jet.

In today’s world, technology and politics have made business increasingly challenging. I believe people are going to have to become more entrepreneurial, and to do that, they’ll need both technical and human skills.

Success in business is fundamentally dependent on understanding people: the people you work with, the people who work for you and the people who buy your products and services.

Understanding your people and your market is what makes a successful business. And that’s the message I try to share with the entrepreneurs I work with.

THE HUMAN EDGE: The power of people, connections and experiences that shape our journey.

"My journey with ORT Jet started more than 10 years ago, when I was working in agencies. I regularly attended their digital marketing and digital transformation courses, as well as talks by incredible entrepreneurs and business leaders. Those experiences challenged my thinking, shaped my career and opened my mind to what was possible.

Little did I know they were also laying the foundations for the entrepreneur I would one day become.

Fast forward to today, and I've been running my own business, Baby I Love You Marketing, for almost a year. ORT Jet has continued to support my journey through entrepreneurial workshops, networking events and opportunities like In the Boardroom. My first session took place just as I was launching my business, and hearing from someone I deeply admire gave me even more confidence to take the leap and back myself.

What makes ORT Jet so special is the access it creates. The opportunity to sit in a room with established business owners, hear their stories, ask questions and build genuine relationships is invaluable, especially as a small business owner.

And in a world increasingly shaped by AI and technology, I believe human connection and creativity matter more than ever. Technology can do incredible things, but it cannot replace the magic of a shared idea, an authentic conversation or a meaningful connection.

I'm incredibly grateful that ORT Jet has been part of my journey for more than a decade, and so proud that Baby I Love You Marketing has been named one of ORT Jet's Top 10 Businesses of 2026.
