The Dovetail Floater bed has been in production since the early 2000’s. The floating bed frame features dovetail joins to the corners. Solely using timber joinery the bed comes together without any screws or metal components. Crafted from recycled timbers, we can ship this bed anywhere, it suits all sorts of settings from Victorian, to mid century, to contemporary, to rustic, to slick modernist. It easily makes its way up into old and new apartments.

PS- I asked ai to put sheets and pillows on the bed but every thing else is designed and made by us in our workshop in Melbourne.

If you are located in the Melbourne metro area we come and set the bed up for you.

Loft bed with “shelf stair” installed this week in a new Nightingale apartment in Brunswick. The apartment has an open plan bedroom/living arrangement- this piece elevates the sleeping space and creates a work area underneath. To make it easier to get up and down we looked at alternating stairs and then stretched the steps out so they could be used as shelves as well.

Meet our team!
Nick - the wood oracle.
Sunny - Jill of all trades.
Otis - our new apprentice.
We are testing out a stair that doubles as shelf unit for a current loft bed project.

“We are beyond thrilled with the shelves, they have completely transformed the space into something cosy and warm and have unexpectedly opened up the whole room. Thank you also for your patience with going back and forth with the design. Where we are at is a forever piece that has instantly become part of our home”
Can’t really get better feedback than that. Record Player Cabinet and shelves, made to order, out of recycled Australian Hardwood.

New set of Parse Chairs are being made at the moment. This is one from a set we sent to Tassie a while back. How did the chair get its name? Well we wanted a word that had arse in it due to the shaping on the seat. But also the chair is very elemental, the seat the, the base and back are all clearly defined and analysed separately but come together cohesively.
