Summerland Style

This set of needlepoint dining chairs were created by my client’s mom and upholstered by her dad back in the 80’s. The thin foam was almost completely crumbled and the plywood base made for an uncomfortable sit. We carefully removed the needlepoint, vacuumed them and did a couple rounds of gentle cleaning before hanging them to dry. I re-worked the plywood seats so that the middle was cut out and a jute webbing structure was installed (unfortunately not pictured). This new seat support along with the new 2” foam allows the sitter to sink a bit which makes for a MUCH more comfortable experience!

Part 3 of my spontaneous powder room redo is up! This project ended up costing around $110 for primer, paint and fabric. I consider the wallpaper to be free since it was leftover over from my bedroom overhaul more than 3 years ago. Everything else was re-used or sourced from around the house. Even the “shiplap” was a salvaged material when we installed it 8 years ago (which explains the knothole above the vintage pic of my dad if you were wondering 😉) Pretty budget-friendly!

This Guernsey portrait hung in my grandparents’ farmhouse utility room for years. It now anchors our downstairs powder room and helps give it some personality. I just have one more element to complete and then I can show you the entire finished product!

When high end fabric meets a new pneumatic nailhead gun and they’re paired with one of the MOST dramatic before and afters … well, it just doesn’t get much better than that!

Delivered this custom banquette to a very fun client this afternoon. It’s such a good feeling when everything fits!

Went out on a service call for a local furniture company today and am chuffed to bits with the outcome!
