Nice to be back on this job getting these wardrobes finally wrapped up.

After making a complete mess of the last set of doors by making them too big — and then having my tools stolen from the van halfway through the job — it’s fair to say this one threw a few challenges at us.

But we got there in the end, and I’m really pleased with how it’s all come together.

Oak veneer internals, cedar veneer backs and cedar-lined drawer bottoms, all finished off with sprayed doors and panels.

All the ironmongery is from Häfele, including the hinges, drawer runners and hanging rails.

A few headaches along the way, but definitely worth it when you see the finished result.

Nice having the Shaper Origin and BenchPilot working alongside me on these grilles for a recent wardrobe project.

The BenchPilot can just be cutting away while I’m getting on with other bits in the workshop, which is a massive help. Like you all know, I haven’t got a huge workshop, so having a mini CNC setup like this makes these sorts of processes so much easier without taking over the whole space.

These four grilles are now ready to head off to the sprayers. All cleaned up nicely using the Festool sanders, along with the soft sanding pads to get right inside all the grooves.

Back on site again this week fitting a few more wardrobes, so I’ll keep you posted with the progress throughout the week.

Updated version of my jigsaw dust extraction setup.

I’ve taken away the mounting plate from the previous version and simplified it down to just the hose connection and the flexible extraction pipe.

The idea is that this should now potentially work with most jigsaws across a lot of different brands.

As you can see, it does a really good job of pulling the dust away whether you’re working from above or underneath when scribing, and the flexible pipe gives you loads more freedom to position the extraction exactly where you need it.

Another big improvement is storage — you can simply move the flexible pipe out of the way and tuck everything back into a Systainer or tool box without the interference you had with the previous model.

I’ll hopefully have these available on the website at some point next week.

Nice to get this one wrapped up.

A really tricky roof space on this project, but we managed to create some beautiful custom wardrobes that make full use of the room.

The main challenge was keeping access into the eaves down the side, while still making everything look completely seamless and properly built in — almost like it’s always been there.

Just the grilles to go on at the tops and bottoms of the doors for the air-conditioning airflow and then this room is complete.

Everything on this build is from Häfele, right down to the hinges, fixtures and fittings, Dominoes, Lamellos and screws.

Absolutely love how this one has turned out.

On to the next room.

Fitted these beautiful Colston handles to these fluted walnut doors.

The base of the handle was never going to sit right directly onto the fluted face, so we came up with the solution of making a solid walnut disc and routing it into the front of the door. It gives the handle a completely flat fixing point, but still keeps that decorative, high-end feel.

The Shaper Origin really comes into its own for this sort of detail, especially used with the BenchPilot. Accurate, repeatable and perfect for getting all of these exactly where they need to be.

So happy with how these came out.

Finished off one of two dressing rooms today.

It’s been a bit backwards and forwards on site over the last couple of weeks with loads going on, so really happy to finally get this one wrapped up.

Häfele Matrix runners, ironmongery and fixings throughout the whole unit, along with the LED lighting. I absolutely love the seamless 4mm x 10mm LED strips — such a clean finish once they’re installed.

Finsa Sense Natur Walnut throughout, bookmatched all the way around so the grain flows nicely from section to section, then finished in Osmo oil.

Really pleased with how this room has come together.

Cinema room is almost complete!

Really happy with this floating fluted walnut unit we fitted today. All the hinges, ironmongery and handles are from Häfele, along with all the LED lighting throughout the unit.

The LEDs work on sensors and can also change colours, which looks unreal in the cinema room and really finishes the whole unit off.

I’m so happy with how everything has come together. Just got to cut the carpet in, glue it down and finish off a few final little snags, then this one is DONE!

A simple little trick for adjusting the height of the edging application.

I wanted to keep the edging perfectly flush with the solid walnut fluted panels, so I simply slid in a 3mm packer — and it brought up the edging perfectly in line.

Sometimes the simplest solutions work best!
